The Longs went to Botswana, Africa, on the AIM program in 1997. Then they complete three AIM trips to the South Pacific. They received their missionary appointment to Vanuatu in 2001. In Vanuatu they started three churches and two preaching points along with opening up Zion Training Centre (a pre-Bible and literacy school).

In 2010 Mike and Lisa changed fields to Zimbabwe. They have not been able to obtain a visa to live in Zimbabwe and so have started a church and Bible school in Francistown, Botswana while taking frequent trips into Zimbabwe. They have seen many receive the Holy Ghost in evangelistic services throughout Zimbabwe and Botswana. They also conduct regional leadership training seminars. Lisa teaches ministers wives’ classes and is also a speaker for the regional ladies ministry. She is involved throughout Botswana giving children’s ministry seminars to the local churches. Their goal is to start a Bible school in the capital city of Harare where the population is close to three million people.
